These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of our website (northstarseniormoves.com) and any services, tools, or communications provided by North Star Senior Moves. 1. Description of Services
North Star Senior Moves provides senior relocation, downsizing, organizing, packing, coordination, and related support services. Our services may include:
- Move planning and coordination
- Downsizing assistance
- Packing and unpacking
- Organizing services
- Vendor coordination (movers, disposal companies, donation centers, shredding services, etc.)
- Project management
- Scheduling services for staff and contractors
The scope of services is defined on a per-project basis and may vary based on client needs.
2. Client Responsibilities
By using our services, you agree that:
- You will provide accurate, complete, and timely information necessary for us to perform services.
- You have the legal authority to request services for the property or individuals involved.
- You will ensure safe access to the premises, including utilities and clear walkways.
- You will promptly respond to communications regarding scheduling, service changes, or project needs.
- You are responsible for evaluating whether downsizing or discarding items is appropriate and for any decisions regarding property disposal or donation.
We are not responsible for delays or issues caused by incomplete or inaccurate information provided by the client.
3. Scheduling & Cancellations
Scheduling depends on staff availability and project requirements. We may request a written confirmation for certain service dates.
Cancellations
- Cancellations made less than 24 hours before a scheduled appointment may incur a cancellation fee.
- Staff availability forms, blackout date forms, and other scheduling tools must be submitted accurately and on time.
4. Payment Terms
Payment terms vary depending on the services provided. Unless otherwise stated in writing:
- Hourly services are billed per staff member engaged on the project.
- Invoices are due upon receipt unless other arrangements are agreed upon.
- Deposits may be required for certain projects or high-demand scheduling.
- Additional fees may apply for material costs, special item handling, or third-party vendor charges.
Failure to pay invoices on time may result in suspension of services.
5. Use of Third-Party Vendors
We may coordinate with third-party vendors such as:
- Moving companies
- Junk removal services
- Donation centers
- Shredding services
- Storage facilities
North Star Senior Moves does not control third-party vendors and is not responsible for their actions, pricing, or performance. Any agreements made with third-party vendors are between you and that vendor.
6. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
- We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.
- We are not responsible for loss or damage caused by third-party vendors, pre-existing property conditions, or items the client instructed us to discard, donate, or handle.
- Our liability for any claim related to services is limited to the amount you paid us for the specific service giving rise to the claim.
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims arising from your misuse of our services, failure to provide accurate information, or actions of third-party vendors.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
